UNIVERSITY SHORT CUTS MISSION:
The transition from high school to college can be challenging, especially when there are multiple factors to consider. With the increasing college workload and the task of determining if you are in the right major, it can be overwhelming. Additionally, you might wonder if your chosen major will be lucrative and if there will be a job waiting for you after graduation. Not to mention, selecting the right college and avoiding exorbitant costs for a degree adds to the stress. There is a lot at stake, and the pressure can be intense.
That’s why I’m here to share my experiences from my time in college to help guide you through your college journey no matter how difficult. I aim to make your transition into and out of college as smooth as possible, so you can not only believe in yourself but also have the peace of mind that you are taking the correct steps toward finding what you love and getting paid for it.

About the Book Calculus One Made Simple:
Calculus One Made Simple is a step-by-step guide designed to help college students truly understand Calculus 1—not just survive it. This book focuses on fully worked-out calculus problems, so you can see exactly how to approach and solve the types of questions you’ll encounter in a real Calculus One course.
If you’re worried that weak algebra skills might hold you back, this book has algebra covered. A dedicated review section in the back of the book walks through essential algebra topics needed for success in calculus. The algebra topics are fully worked out just like the calculus problems. The algebra section will cover everything from basic arithmetic and solving systems of equations to multiplying by the conjugate. This is meant to support your entire calculus journey.
The core of the book covers the most important Calculus One topics, including limits, derivatives, related rates, and optimization problems. Each topic is explained step by step and is reinforced with detailed examples to help you build confidence and problem-solving skills. Additionally, there is a narrative explaining some of the topics even further on those tougher topics.
Beyond the math itself, Calculus One Made Simple also includes practical advice on study habits and learning strategies developed through my own experience struggling through calculus in college. I really did get an F on my first Calculus exam and finished the course with a B. So, I really know firsthand what works and what doesn't. I share how to push through when calculus feels overwhelming—so you don’t have to figure it out the hard way.
With this book by your side, you’ll gain the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to uncover the “secrets” of Calculus One and pass your class with confidence.
